Information for Contributors

The Journal accepts only electronic submissions sent via online submission system on the address, http://chempap.edmgr.com. Manuscripts must be in a form of a single Word or PDF file. The authors are obliged to use a manuscript template containing also the detailed instructions. Authors are recommended to consult the back issues of the journal for the form and style of published articles. At least 3 independent reviewers must be proposed during the online submission procedure. They should not be from the same country as the authors and collaborators from other countries must be avoided too.

All contributions must comply with the Aims and Scope of the Journal. Chemical Papers publishes original full-length papers, short communications, and reviews.

Original full-length papers are significant completed studies, which size should be up to 20 full manuscript pages or 40 000 characters including the space occupied by schemes, figures, and tables. The Editors reserve the right to ask the authors for the reduction of longer manuscripts.

Short communications should comprise original, concise studies of limited extent such as reports on new compounds, reactions, procedures, models, etc. The materials and methods must be complete. The size of this type of manuscripts is limited by 8 full manuscript pages or 16 000 characters including the space occupied by schemes, figures, and tables. The manuscripts should comprise an abstract, list of references, and a single section containing all other parts. They can be processed and published faster than full-length papers and reviews if the authors properly explain the importance of urgent publication upon submission of their manuscripts.

Reviews should be an authoritative, critical, and comprehensive evaluation of research conducted in previous years in the areas of topical interest. Review manuscripts may be submitted directly without a previous consent of the Editor-in-Chief if they do not exceed 30 full manuscript pages or 60 000 characters in total. Prospective authors of longer reviews should first send an outline of the proposed article to the Editor-in-Chief with a brief letter explaining why the subject might be of wide interest or significance.

Copyright Transfer

Articles published in Chemical Papers are copyrighted. The authors are obliged to send to the Editorial Office a signed copyright transfer agreement after the acceptance of their manuscript for publication.

Conflicts of Interest

In order to encourage transparency without impeding publication, all authors, referees, and editors must declare any association that poses a conflict of interest in connection with the manuscript. There should be no contractual relations or proprietary considerations that would affect the publication of information contained in a submitted manuscript. A competing interest for a scholarly journal is anything that interferes with, or could reasonably be perceived as interfering with, the full and objective presentation, review, or publication of research findings, or of articles that comment on or review research findings. Potential conflicts of interest exist when an author, editor or reviewer has financial, personal or professional interests in a publication that might influence their scientific judgment.

Informed Consent

Our human participant policy conforms to the Uniform Requirements of the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors. Patients have a right to privacy that should not be infringed without informed consent. Identifying information (patients' names, photographs, hospital unit numbers) should not be published unless the information is essential for scientific purposes and the patient (or parent or guardian) gives written informed consent for publication. Informed consent for this purpose requires that a patient who is identifiable be shown the manuscript to be published. Information about the signed form of Informed Consent obtained from subjects participants should appear as an appropriate statement in the published article. We encourage authors to submit a sample of a patient consent form, and may require submission on particular occasions.

Human and Animal Rights

Manuscripts containing information related to human or animal use should clearly state that the research has complied with all relevant national regulations and institutional policies and has been approved by the authors' institutional review board or equivalent committee. These statements should appear in the Experimental Procedures section (or for contributions without this section, within the main text or in the captions of relevant figures or tables). Copies of the guidelines and policy statements must be available for review by the Editor if necessary. The editors reserve the right to seek additional information or guidance from reviewers on any cases in which concerns arise. Research involving human participants must be in compliance with the Helsinki Declaration, and any experimental research on animals must follow internationally recognized guidelines. A statement to this effect must appear in the Experimental Procedures section of the manuscript, including the name of the body which gave approval, with a reference number where appropriate.

E-Prints

The corresponding author of each paper will receive free of charge a PDF-file containing the published version of the article.
