Crystal structure of tellurium dioxide II

Abstract: TeO2 prepd. by crystn. from H2SO4 soln. or by fusion was examd. by a rotating crystal using Cu Kα radiation. The tetragonal cell unit contains 4 mols. of these sizes: a = 4.796 A. and c = 7.594 A. The space group is D44 - P41212 or D48 = P43212. The parameters of the Te atom are x = y = 0.030, z = 0, and of the O atom are x = 0.177, y = 0.227, z = 0.217. The lattice is formed by a three-dimensional covalent chain of atoms.
