The spectrophotometric research of chlorocupric complexes in acetone. IV

Abstract: cf. C.A. 51, 10292e. The spectrophotometric study was made on the systems CuCl₂-LiCl or NaCl or KCl or CsCl-acetone. All chlorides in acetone solns. of CuCl₂ shift the equil. in the direction of the formation of chlorocupric complexes. A modified method of limiting logs was developed to prove the coexistence of Cu-Cl₃^- with CuCl₄^--. The results agreed with the methods of Ostromuislenskii (C.A. 5, 1702) and of Job (C.A. 22, 2120).
