Abstract: It was detd. that the amt. of CNS- in cabbage (Brassica oleracea) (grown in exptl. pots or in the field) is increased with sulfate increase derived from nutrient solns. or com. fertilizer. The methods of Barker (C.A. 30, 42171) and Aldridge (C.A. 40, 14261) were compared and found to give the same results if CNS- was detd. in the heads of cabbage. In the green leaves of cabbage, Barker's method gave high CNS- results as compared with Aldridge's method.
