Abstract: cf. C.A. 53, 14979h. 4-[Bis(β-chloroethyl)amino]phenyl isothiocyanate, m. 85-6°, and 2-fluorenyl isothiocyanate, m. 107°, were prepd. in order to obtain compds. with a specific effect on nuclear matter. Because of easy oxidn. it was not possible to prep. from 2-[bis(β-chloroethyl)amino]-p-toluidine the corresponding isothiocyanate but some new intermediary products were prepd.: N,N-bis(β-hydroxyethyl)-4-nitro-ο-toluidine, m. 112-13°; N,N-bis(β-chloroethyl)-4-nitro-ο-toluidine, m. 65-6°, and 2-[bis(β-chloroethyl)amino]-p-toluidine, m. 88-9°.
