Abstract: In a.-c. oscillographic polarography with a Hg dropping electrode, 10-6M Cd++, Ni++, and Cu++, and 10-5M Pb++, Zn++, and Fe++ can be detd. in 0.1M NH4SCN-0.5M NH4ClO4-0.3M hexamethylenetetramine. The electrode reaction corresponds to redn. combined probably with adsorption of reduced complexes on the electrode surface. The inflections on the curve dE/dt = f(E) were decreased by addn. of halide ions, esp. I and gelatin, and by other metal ions simultaneously present. The method was used in analysis of ores, baryte, dolomite, calcite, and water. Interfering cations (Al, Ti, U) were masked by tiron.
