Structural effects in the oscillographic polarography of ferrocanes

Abstract: Ferrocene and its derivs. in M HClO₄ in 50% EtOH, using a rotating Pt electrode, produced anodic pulses. Q values were tabulated and compared with Hammett's σp consts. of individual substituents. They showed a linear relation, except for some deviation by mesomerism. The oscillog. behavior of chalcones substituted with ferrocene was explained.
