Determination of the composition of solid phases in the quaternary system ''solvent and two reciprocal salt pairs.''

Abstract: The application of the Schreinemakers method in the quaternary system 'solvent and 2 reciprocal pairs' was studied (CA 64: 2791c). This system was illustrated by the Janecke (Z. Physik. Chem. 71, 1(1911)) isotherm., expressed by a 4-sided pyramid, showing that the figurative points of the solns. which are satd. with solid phase are on the common line inside of the pyramid. Also, a quadrangular diagram showed those the relation of the ions in the solid phase and those of the satd. solns. are common. Also, the water of hydration is shown in the space isotherm. As an example, the system NaBr-CdBr2-H2O at 25° is given.
