Ferrocene derivatives. XX. Infrared spectra of ferrocene analogs of chalcones

Abstract: The fundamental spectral characteristics of p- and m -substituted ferrocene analogues of chalcones, FcCOCH = CHC6H4X (A-type) and FcCH = CHCOC6H4X (B-type) where Fc stands for ferrocenyl, were studied. The possibilities to correlate linearly the C = 0 bond frequencies, molar absorptivities and integrated absorption intensities of v(C = 0) bands with a-constants of substituents were investigated. The problem of conformational isomerism in relation to infrared spectra in the region of C = 0 stretching vibration was being solved.
