Description of equilibrium data of the adsorption of n-heptane on molecular sieve 5 A by an actual form of the Freundlich isotherm

Abstract:  In this paper a critical analysis of the semiempirical derivations of an actual form of the Freundlich equation of adsorption isotherm is presented. A statistical evaluation of the experimentally determined adsorption equi­libria of w-heptane on molecular sieve 5 A showed that this equation fairly described the isothermal data over a relatively wide range of values. Ho­wever, we did not succeed in establishing the relationship between the constants of this equation and temperature so that the calculated equilibrium data might conform to the statistical criteria.
