Solution properties of poly(vinyl chloride) in tetrahydropyran

Abstract: Tetrahydropyran   is a thermodn. poorer solvent for PVC  than either cyclohexanone or THF. The soln. properties of the system PVC-tetrahydropyran were characterized quant. by viscometry and sedimentation velocity. The Mark-Houwink relationship was detd. as a function of temp. in the region of 20-50°C. In addn., the unperturbed dimensions and their temp. coeff. were detd.
