Synthesis of 2-chloro-3-(4-X-phenyl)propyl isothiocyanates

Abstract:  2-Chloro-3-(4-X-phenyl)propyl isothiocyanates (X = H, CH₃, OCH₃, Br, N0₂) have been synthesized and their structure has been confirmed by i.r. and ¹H-n.m.r. spectroscopy. The temperature dependence of the ¹H-n.m.r. features resulting from the conformational change of the studied substances is also discussed.
