Aminolysis of sucrose. XII. Reaction of sucrose with aqueous solutions of glycinamide at elevated temperatures

Abstract: 2,5-Bis(D-arabino-tetrahydroxybutyl)pyrazine, 4(5)-(D-arabino-tetrahydroxybutyl)imidazole, 2-(D-arabino-tetrahydroxybutyl)-5-hydroxyprazine and its 6-isomer, 2-methyl-5-hydroxpyrazine and its 6-isomer, 4(5)-hydroxymethylimidazole, 4(5)-methylimidazole and 2-methylpyrazine were found in a mixt. of heterocyclic compds. resulting from the reactions of aq. soln. of sucrose with glycinamide at 140°. The mechanism of the investigated reaction is discussed and it is assumed that the decisive role is attributed to the oxidative deamination of the basic component present in the mixt. 18 references.
