Abstract: The paper deals with di_usion dialysis of organic acids in a continuous dialyzer with an anionexchange membrane Neosepta-AMH, where water has been used as a stripping agent. The experiments, which cover aqueous solution of _ve organic acids (oxalic, acetic, citric, tartaric, and lactic acid), have been carried out in order to _nd the e_ect of the inlet acid concentration and liquid flow rate of both the streams upon mass transfer rate. Overall dialysis coe_cient and recovery e_ciency of acid have been used for quantitative evaluation of the process mentioned. At the lowest initial acid concentration, it has been found that mass transfer rate decreases in the series oxalic, tartaric, acetic, lactic, and citric acid.
